Bob and Lola Sanford Elementary School
Van Alstyne ISD launched construction of its second elementary school named Bob and Lola Sanford Elementary School on August 10, 2017. This two-story, 80,000-square-foot school was designed to house pre-K and first grades on the first floor and grades two through five on the second floor.
A unique element to this project for ATMAC and its HVAC services was the full gymnasium built to serve as the school’s storm shelter. ATMAC worked with project engineers on a special housing FEMA grills. Space was also designated for after-school community activities and ATMAC provided HVAC and plumbing for a standard elementary school cafeteria and library.
The total HVAC and plumbing budget came in at $2.6 million. The project was completed July 2018 within budget and on time to open for new students entering the 2018 to 2019 school year.
